The Invader Gear Steel Half Face mask is an airsoft lower face mask made of braided steel mesh that protects the lower part of the face. The mask, which easily bends to different face shapes, is suitable for use in combination with a wide range of goggles. The lower face mask is intended for use in combination with separate goggles. The best protection and coverage area is achieved by using so-called goggle-style strap goggles . Smaller-profile goggles can also be used, but they may leave a small gap between the goggles and the lower face mask. The steel wire grid can easily withstand a hit from even a powerful weapon, even at very close range.

Compared to paintball masks that offer good protection, the combination of a lower face shield and goggles is significantly lower in profile than a paintball mask, making aiming easier, especially with iron sights.
