The Skala Medica SBT Stop Bleed Tourniquet is a lightweight and easy-to-use tourniquet for rapid control of limb bleeding in situations where blood circulation must be effectively and safely cut off. The tourniquet is designed to be used with one hand, making it well suited for self-care when an assistant is not immediately available. The SBT is a simple but highly reliable unit: a wide strap, a friction lock and a rotating tension rod form a system that tightens evenly, stays in place and tightens in a controlled manner.

The SBT utilizes a SOF-T friction lock, which makes application faster and more secure than traditional Velcro-based models. The absence of Velcro improves application options, especially when conditions are dirty or challenging – for example, in snow, mud or clay – and the bandage also works underwater. The locking strap on the tension rod has a marking field for the installation time, which makes it easier to monitor the first aid situation and follow-up care. The product is made in Europe and tested by professionals.

The SBT is available in black and blue, and both are technically the same tourniquet, meaning they perform the function of a tourniquet – there is no difference in design or function. In practice, colors are often assigned roles, with black typically chosen for real-world use and kept unused until needed, while blue is a common choice for training and repetitive training setups. However, both colors are equally suitable for effectively stopping extremity bleeding.
