Suppressors & Adapters
An airsoft suppressor (mock suppressor) is typically a cylindrical attachment mounted to the end of the barrel. Its purpose is to soften the sound of the gun and slightly change the sound signature.
Inside many airsoft suppressors there are sound-dampening materials such as foam that help reduce the noise produced as the BB exits the barrel. However, most of the sound produced by an airsoft gun comes from the internal mechanism, meaning a suppressor mainly affects the tone of the muzzle sound.
Airsoft suppressors also often act as an outer barrel extension, allowing players to hide a longer inner barrel or change the appearance of the replica. This is common in setups where the inner barrel extends beyond the outer barrel.
Many airsoft suppressors can also function as a housing for tracer units, allowing tracer BBs to be illuminated as they pass through the device. This makes shots visible in low-light or night games.
Adapters allow suppressors, tracer units, and other muzzle accessories to be installed on different thread standards. With the right adapter, various airsoft guns and accessories can be made compatible with each other.
This category includes various airsoft suppressors, mock suppressors, and thread adapters that allow players to add functional accessories and customize the appearance of their replica.
