The A&K M1919A4 is a heavy and full-scale airsoft machine gun modeled after the classic World War II-era M1919A4. This is not a standard LMG, but a true heavy machine gun replica designed for fixed-position use, where weight, size and construction are a key part of the overall experience.

The set includes an M122 tripod, making this a proper support weapon system straight out of the box. The product is delivered in two separate packages and requires assembly, but the process is straightforward and does not require any special tools or experience.

The construction is heavily metal-based. The receiver, barrel assembly, bipod, charging handle, sights and tripod are primarily made of steel, which is reflected in the total weight – the full setup exceeds 18 kg with accessories. The outer barrel is made of aluminium, while the grip is polymer. This is not something you carry around one-handed, but rather deploy and operate from a fixed position.

Internally, the replica uses a machine gun gearbox based on an M249-type design. It features a set of 18:1 steel gears, 8 mm bearings and an adjustable hop-up unit. The platform is built for sustained full-auto fire, which is exactly what this type of replica is meant for.

The included box magazine holds 5000 BBs and is powered by a 9V battery. It offers two feeding modes: automatic and sound-activated. A dummy ammunition belt is also included, completing the overall look.

About the real firearm: M1919A4

The M1919A4 is an American .30 caliber (7.62×63 mm) air-cooled machine gun developed from John Browning’s earlier M1917 design. Introduced in the 1930s, it became one of the most widely recognized machine guns of World War II.

The weapon operates on a short recoil system and was designed to deliver sustained, reliable suppressive fire. The M1919A4 variant is specifically configured for infantry use on a tripod, offering a balance of durability and continuous fire capability without the need for water cooling.

The M1919 series saw extensive use not only in World War II, but also in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. It was eventually replaced in U.S. service by the M60, although various versions remained in use around the world for decades afterward.
