Cyma CGS Colt M723 GBBR Rifle - Black

The Cyma CGS Colt M723 is a gas-powered GBBR rifle that replicates the M16A2 / Colt M723 carbine, a compact 1980s platform used by special forces and widely deployed in early modern combat operations. It offers a balanced combination of mobility and stability, making it a versatile choice for both CQB and outdoor gameplay.

Developed in cooperation between CYMA and CyberGun under an official Colt license, the rifle features authentic “M16A2 COLT” markings and faithfully reproduced details. It is part of the Lightning Series, utilizing a lightweight aluminum bolt carrier and an optimized recoil system to deliver faster cycling, improved responsiveness, and a higher rate of fire. At its core is the CYMA CGS gas system, developed with T8 and based on the TM MWS platform, providing realistic blowback and broad compatibility with aftermarket upgrade parts.

The construction combines an aluminum receiver with polymer external components and steel parts in high-wear areas. The classic carry handle upper includes an adjustable rear sight, maintaining the retro design. The rifle is equipped with a 14.5” class metal outer barrel, finished with a steel muzzle device. The front end features a CAR-15 style polymer handguard, while ergonomics are completed with a classic pistol grip and an adjustable stock mounted on a metal two-position buffer tube.

To improve durability, multiple steel components are used, including the bolt catch, iron sights, sling mounts, dust cover, and parts of the trigger assembly. The rifle is powered by a 30-round real-cap gas magazine.

The Colt M723 is one of the key transitional models between early CAR-15 carbines and the later M4 platform. It saw extensive use with US special operations units, including Delta Force, during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Carbines like the M723 were used in operations such as those in Somalia, where their compact size and handling characteristics proved highly effective in urban combat environments. These experiences directly influenced the development and adoption of the M4 as the standard service carbine.
