GFC Tactical manufactures the Ventus V2 lower face shield for airsoft use with steel mesh. The lower face shield, also known as a half-mesh mask, is intended to be used in conjunction with goggles to protect the facial area from bullet impacts. The lower face shield can be easily shaped to fit the profile of the face and the adjustable straps ensure that the mask stays on even at high speeds.

Lower face shields are an excellent and modern solution for protecting the face, mouth area and teeth in airsoft games. Compared to a paintball mask, the combination of goggles and lower face shield has a lower profile, almost flush with the skin and therefore does not hinder aiming like a higher-profile paintball mask. The mesh structure makes it easy to breathe through the lower face shield and this also reduces fogging of the goggles. If necessary, the lower face shield can also be easily removed during games, e.g. for drinking or eating.
