The US Army Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) shorts are shortened versions of the classic BDU trousers, which were worn by the US Army as BDU combat trousers from the early 1980s to the mid-2000s.

The straight-cut Helikon-Tex BDU shorts are made of durable Ripstop-reinforced PolyCotton fabric. The pants have an adjustable waist and a reinforced back. There are six pockets in these shorts; two front pockets, two back pockets and two thigh pockets. The back and thigh pockets have flaps that close with buttons.
