Helikon-Tex E&E Pouch - Field (NIR/IRR) - PL Woodland

The Helikon-Tex E&E Pouch - Field (NIR/IRR) is a large pouch based on a revised British Special Forces design. It comes in PL Woodland camouflage with NIR/IRR properties.

The pouch is made of Cordura® 500D IRR fabric (100% nylon, 225 g/m²) and has a total capacity of 2 litres. According to the manufacturer it holds survival and bushcraft equipment, water bottles, food rations and similar items. There is a sleeve on the back that holds a folding saw, knife or axe. The pouch is MOLLE/PALS compatible.

Field products in PL Woodland provide NIR (Near Infrared) functionality, also referred to as IRR (Infrared Reflective). According to the manufacturer, the materials help reduce the contrast of the wearer's silhouette when viewed through devices operating in the near-infrared spectrum. All visible fabrics and components are selected to absorb, reflect and transmit radiation in a way that closely resembles the natural environment, in this case woodland terrain. The materials are tested in the laboratory and in the field using a spectrophotometer and analog night-vision devices.
