Helikon-Tex Modular Individual Med Pouch - Field (NIR/IRR) - PL Woodland

The Helikon-Tex Modular Individual Med Pouch - Field (NIR/IRR) is a compact personal first-aid kit with an NIR/IRR feature that reduces contrast under night vision. It comes in PL Woodland camouflage.

The pouch is filled with the Universal Medical Insert. The insert opens to the sides, allowing immediate access to the contents, and lets you carry essential first aid items: protective gloves, scissors, gauze, bandages and disinfectants. The first aid kit is sold without contents.

The pouch withstands frequent packing, transport of heavy equipment and contact with the ground. It is made from Cordura® 500D with a DWR coating that limits water absorption and makes cleaning easier. The zippers are YKK® and the components Woojin®.

An internal hook-and-loop panel secures the medical insert and prevents it from shifting during movement. Two webbing loops and two paracord loops keep small items in place, and a mesh pocket with a drawstring separates small dressing materials. A loop panel with the Star of Life makes it easier to identify the pouch quickly in an emergency.

Field products in PL Woodland provide NIR (Near Infrared) functionality, also referred to as IRR (Infrared Reflective). According to the manufacturer, the materials help reduce the contrast of the wearer's silhouette when viewed through devices operating in the near-infrared spectrum. All visible fabrics and components are selected to absorb, reflect and transmit radiation in a way that closely resembles the natural environment, in this case woodland terrain. The materials are tested in the laboratory and in the field using a spectrophotometer and analog night-vision devices.
