Helikon-Tex Raid Shirt - Field (NIR/IRR) - PL Woodland

The Helikon-Tex Raid Shirt – Field (NIR/IRR) is a classic uniform shirt redesigned for modern field and tactical use, with an NIR/IRR feature that provides effective camouflage under night vision.

Field products in PL Woodland camouflage provide NIR (Near Infrared) functionality, also referred to as IRR (Infrared Reflective). The materials used help reduce the contrast of the wearer's silhouette when viewed through devices operating in the near-infrared spectrum. All visible fabrics and components are selected to absorb, reflect and transmit radiation in a way that closely resembles the natural environment, woodland terrain. Each material is tested under both laboratory and field conditions using a spectrophotometer and analog night-vision devices.

PolyCotton Stretch Ripstop gives durability and mobility in the field. The blend of cotton and polyester provides breathability, quick drying and resistance to wear, while the addition of elastane delivers the two-way stretch needed for dynamic movement. The ripstop weave reinforces the fabric structure so that any damage does not spread further, increasing the overall durability of the product.

The Raid Shirt features a comfortable raglan sleeve construction that improves freedom of movement in the shoulder and arm areas. This type of cut is still rare in military uniforms, although the U.S. Army has already adopted it; the latest American IHWCU (Improved Hot Weather Combat Uniform) also uses a raglan construction.

The shirt has 8 functional pockets. Two spacious shoulder pockets feature a dual closure system: use the hook-and-loop closure for quick access, or, if maximum discretion is required, cover the hook-and-loop with dedicated flaps and use the Canadian buttons sewn onto webbing instead. The pockets remain accessible even when wearing load-bearing equipment. Two flat small shoulder pockets for a plate compass are sewn onto the large shoulder pockets and secured with hook-and-loop tape. Two spacious chest pockets are secured with two Canadian buttons and covered by protective flaps, with loops for attaching accessories to a cord. Two discreet mesh pockets are located at chest level, one of them secured with a YKK® zipper.

The Raid Shirt forms a complete uniform set with SFU Mk2 or BDU Mk2 Pants and also works well as a standalone garment in field, urban and range setups. The shirt is fastened with concealed Canadian buttons sewn onto durable webbing. Loop panels for personalization are located on the shoulders and above the chest pockets.
