The Jetboil MicroMo 0.8L is a small, fast and surprisingly versatile travel stove when you want to easily prepare a meal for 1-2 people without a large camp kitchen. The 0.8 liter pot is shallow and practical, meaning you can eat directly from it with a spoon without anything spilling over the edges, and the whole set packs neatly into a backpack. The MicroMo is especially suitable for hiking, cycling, kayaking and any lighter trip where you value the small size but don't want to compromise on the fact that the stove can also actually cook and not just boil water.
The big thing about the MicroMo is Jetboil's Thermo-Regulate constant pressure burner. It keeps the flame even and efficient even in cooler weather (down to about -6.5 °C) and at higher altitudes, and at the same time it saves gas significantly compared to a traditional burner. In practice, this means that you can cook more with the same amount of gas and you can often take a smaller and lighter gas tank with you. The regulated burner is also easier to adjust, and it allows you to simmer food for longer without the constant "now too high - now too low" chatter. This makes the MicroMo a much more sensible option even when you want to cook real food, melt snow or boil several rounds of hot drinks at the same camp.
Operation is simple and neat: the burner part is attached to the bottom of the pot and the gas cartridge is screwed into place with a standard thread, so gases from the most common manufacturers fit directly. The integrated piezo push-button ignition makes starting fast and safe. Thanks to the FluxRing heat exchanger, the MicroMo boils water quickly while using less gas, and the insulated cooking vessel also serves as a drinking cup. The transparent lid with drinking hole is really handy, and there is even an integrated storage space inside the lid for the gas tank tripod, so small parts don't roll around loose in your backpack.
Another practical plus is that it comes with a Pot Support, which allows the MicroMo to expand to accommodate other pots and pans if needed. With additional accessories, you can easily build a small “real camping kitchen” without having to lug around a large system.
