Ka-Bar Apex 5500 Knife - Clip Point - D2 - Grey-Green

The KA-BAR Apex 5500 is a compact and sleek fixed blade knife designed by long-time KA-BAR collaborator Petr Janda. Developed to work effectively in tight spaces and for tasks that require precise control, the Apex has a slim and lightweight design. This makes it an excellent companion for hiking, hunting, and tactical use. The included durable plastic sheath allows for a variety of carrying options and is also MOLLE compatible.

The blade is made of D2 tool steel, which is known for its hardness, excellent wear resistance and long-lasting sharpness. D2 is not completely stainless, so the blade can be prone to discoloration or rusting in moisture. For this reason, it is recommended to dry the blade after use and oil it regularly. The blade has a Clip Point profile and is finished with a black coating that improves corrosion resistance and reduces reflections. The thin design makes the knife excellent for, for example, wood planing or precision work.

The handle is made of GFN (Glass Filled Nylon), a glass fiber reinforced nylon known for its durability and grip. The handle profile narrows at the front and back, and its middle part is clearly thicker. In addition, the surface pattern improves grip even more. There is a hole at the end of the handle for attaching a paracord string. The included plastic sheath design includes a water drainage hole and a modular attachment system, where two polymer straps are attached with snaps. The sheath is double-sided, so it can be installed in the desired position.
