The S&T SVT-40 AEG is an airsoft replica of the Soviet semi-automatic SVT-40 rifle used, among others, during World War II. The stock, handguard and upper cover are made from a single piece of wood, while the receiver, sights, barrel and barrel shroud are metal. The original-style markings on the receiver make the model a convincing choice for history enthusiasts and reenactment.
Just like the original, the rifle fires in semi-automatic mode only, and the trigger safety matches the original design. Inside is a reinforced dedicated gearbox and an ETU that improves the operation and durability of the mechanism. The adjustable rotary hop-up is located under the mock bolt cover, and an integrated automatic power cut-off protects the battery. A metal magazine with a capacity of 80 BBs is included.
The SVT-40 (Samozaryadny Karabin Tokareva, model 1940) was one of the most distinctive semi-automatic rifles used by the Red Army during World War II. Designed by Fyodor Tokarev, it fired the 7.62x54R cartridge and was fed from a 10-round magazine. It was also produced in sniper variants.
