The GP-30 is a Russian 40 mm grenade launcher designed for use with AK-series assault rifles. It is a direct successor to the GP-25 "Kostyor" grenade launcher and represents a simpler and lighter design. The GP-30 is also known by the nickname Obuvka ("Shoe"). It has been in service with the Russian military since the 1990s and is still in use by many other countries.
The GP-30 is an under-barrel grenade launcher that mounts directly to the gas block of an assault rifle. It has a separate trigger mechanism and sighting system that allows for accurate firing at ranges up to 400 meters. The GP-30 uses 40 mm VOG-25-type grenades, which do not require a separate case.
