Modeled after the famous ZB vz. 26 machine gun

The ZB vz. 26 machine gun was designed in 1926 by Václav Holek and manufactured by the Czechoslovakian Zbrojovka Brno. The weapon was widely used by various countries, including the armies of Czechoslovakia, China, Romania, Lithuania and the Soviet Union. When Nazi Germany occupied Czechoslovakia in 1939, the weapon was adopted by the Wehrmacht and renamed the MG26(t).

The ZB-26's ingenious design made it one of the best light machine guns of its time. Its design was later used as the basis for the Bren machine gun, the Japanese Type 96, and the Spanish FAO machine gun, among others.
