The Barrett M82 is a .50 BMG (12.7x99mm) caliber self-loading sniper rifle manufactured by the American Barrett Firearms Manufacturing. The weapon measures 1448 mm and weighs 13.6 kg without magazine. The magazine capacity is 10 rounds and a fully loaded magazine weighs a massive 2.8 kg. It was originally manufactured for civilian use, but since the 1990s it has been sold mainly to the defense forces of various countries. The rifle has been sold to over 40 countries and is also used by the Finnish Defense Forces under the designation 12.7 heavy sniper rifle 2000 Barrett (12.7 RSTKIV 2000).
