Specna Arms M249 SA-249 MK1 CORE AEG machine gun

The Specna Arms SA-249 MK1 CORE is an electric machine gun that offers a lightweight design, easy handling and reliable performance at an affordable price. The model is based on the M249 MK1 machine gun used by the US Armed Forces, and the polymer body of the CORE series brings significant weight savings to the whole without compromising reliability. At approximately 4.5 kg, the weapon is clearly more agile than full-metal M249 replicas, which makes it easier to use, especially during long gaming sessions.

The SA-249 MK1's frame, fore-end, receiver cover, magazine and pistol grip are made of polymer. Metal is used in critical areas such as the outer barrel, buttstock mounts, flame arrester and bipod. In addition, steel is used in parts subject to mechanical stress and load-bearing structures such as the bipod, barrel locking mechanisms, carrying handle, trigger guard structures and mounting pins.

The included box magazine holds approximately 2500 rounds and is powered by two AA batteries with an automatic feeding motor. The weapon can also use standard AR-15/STANAG magazines. The rotary-type hop-up unit is made of metal and offers smooth adjustability.

Internally, the SA-249 MK1 CORE utilizes an M249-style gearbox with an M120 spring, 8mm ball bearings, a ball-bearing spring guide, and steel gears. The mechanics are designed to withstand long bursts of fire and operate with high reliability right out of the box. The ESA™ quick spring change system allows you to change the spring in seconds without opening the gearbox – via the rear hinge.
