Specna Arms M249 SA-249 MK2 CORE AEG machine gun

The Specna Arms SA-249 MK2 CORE is an electric-powered machine gun that offers a lighter build, easy handling, and reliable performance at an affordable price. The replica is modeled after the M249 MK2 machine gun used by the US Armed Forces, known for its solid stock and sturdy overall structure. The polymer body of the CORE series significantly reduces weight without compromising the mechanical durability of the weapon. At approximately 4.7 kg, the MK2 is still agile to handle compared to full-metal M249 replicas.

The SA-249 MK2's frame, fore-end, cover, box magazine and pistol grip are made of polymer. Metal is used in the outer barrel, butt mountings, flame arrester and bipod. Steel is used in critical and stressed areas such as the bipod, barrel locking mechanisms, carrying handle, trigger guard structures and mounting pins. The fixed butt gives the MK2 a more stable shooting position and a realistic profile.

The included 2500-round box magazine operates on two AA batteries and feeds bullets automatically. The gun also supports AR-15/M4-compatible STANAG magazines, which increases flexibility in game use. The rotary-type metal hop-up unit provides smooth and precise adjustability.

Internally, the SA-249 MK2 CORE uses an M249-style all-metal gearbox with an M120 spring, 8mm ball bearings, a ball-bearing spring guide and steel gears. The assembly is designed to withstand long bursts of fire and good reliability right out of the box. The ESA™ quick spring change system allows for spring changes in seconds — via the butt hinge without opening the gearbox.
