Specna Arms MP40 Retro X-ASR AEG

The Specna Arms Retro series was developed in collaboration with S&T and AGM to bring iconic historical firearms to the airsoft world. Designed for enthusiasts of classic military firearms, the series faithfully recreates the appearance of legendary weapons from the past, making these replicas an excellent choice for collectors, historical re-enactments and WWII-themed airsoft games.

Despite the widespread misconception, the MP40 is not a "Schmeisser". The nickname originated from patent markings found on the magazines of the original firearm, even though Hugo Schmeisser was not the weapon's designer. Used extensively by German forces during the Second World War, the MP40 became one of the most recognisable submachine guns ever produced. Its distinctive silhouette has remained iconic through countless books, films and video games.

The Specna Arms MP40 is constructed primarily from metal, giving the replica excellent durability and an authentic feel. The receiver, outer barrel, sights, magazine housing and bolt cover are made from metal, while the lower receiver and pistol grip panels are manufactured from durable polymer.

One of the MP40's signature features is its folding metal stock, which folds neatly underneath the receiver to reduce the overall length for easier transport and manoeuvrability. A unique feature of this Retro model is its firing mode selection. Depending on the position of the charging handle, the replica operates in either semi-automatic or fully automatic fire, replicating the behaviour designed for this airsoft version.

Internally, the replica features a special gearbox combined with a GATE X-ASR MOSFET. The MOSFET protects the electrical system, improves trigger response and extends the lifespan of both the battery and internal electronics. Integrated LED diagnostics also help identify basic electrical faults.

The included 120-round Mid-Cap magazine offers realistic capacity without the rattling associated with high-capacity magazines. With a muzzle velocity of approximately 122 m/s (400 FPS with 0.20 g BBs), the MP40 is an excellent choice for historical airsoft events, collectors and WWII enthusiasts alike.
