Tactical Medical Solutions SOF Tourniquet Gen 5 is a tourniquet designed for rapid and reliable hemorrhage control. It is suitable as a first aid item for vehicles, shooting ranges, and outdoor use, as well as for military applications and professional first responder and law enforcement use.

The SOF Gen 5 builds on the previous Gen 4 model with several practical improvements. The updated hook-and-buckle system allows the tourniquet to be opened and applied without re-threading the strap through the buckle. This significantly speeds up application in high-stress situations and makes it easier to use in confined spaces or on injured limbs.

The 1.5-inch wide reinforced polyester band distributes pressure over a larger surface area than narrower designs, improving occlusion efficiency while reducing discomfort. An integrated Slack Indicator helps ensure that all slack is removed before tightening the windlass, which is a critical step for proper application.

The tourniquet features a windlass machined from a single piece of aircraft-grade aluminum, with an anodized finish for durability in demanding conditions. The extended 5.5-inch windlass provides better grip and makes it easier to achieve sufficient tightening. Updated retention clips, together with the Tri-Ring Lock™ system and TRAC clip, ensure that the windlass remains securely locked in place even during patient movement.

The low-profile design with no unnecessary snag points makes it easy to carry and attach to gear. Included UV-resistant rubber bands allow quick mounting to equipment such as plate carriers or backpacks. The tourniquet also features a dedicated area for recording the application time.

The SOF Tourniquet Gen 5 is approved by the Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care and is the tourniquet of choice for the American Red Cross. It is widely used in environments where a dependable and fast-deploying tourniquet is essential.
