The TyTek Medical TPAK needle is designed for the treatment of tension pneumothorax in situations where rapid and reliable intervention is critical. It provides a compact and dependable solution for pre-hospital care, tactical medicine, and other emergency scenarios where respiratory collapse requires immediate action.
The patented design of the TPAK needle improves the likelihood of successful needle thoracostomy. It is based on over two years of research analyzing patient cases from operational environments, where symptoms indicated tension pneumothorax and respiratory function had significantly deteriorated. This data-driven development resulted in the current TPAK solution.
The needle features a 3.25" length, which is the recommended size for effective chest decompression. Unlike standard IV catheters, which may not reach sufficient depth, the TPAK is designed to reliably access the pleural space. The capless flash chamber provides immediate visual confirmation of proper placement during the procedure.
A rugged, shock-resistant tube protects the needle during transport and deployment. The textured, easy-open hex cap allows quick access when needed, and the integrated safety design enables secure handling and disposal after use. Its compact size makes it easy to carry as part of a medical kit, plate carrier, or backpack.
