AEG Motors
AEG motors provide the power required to drive the gearbox of an electric airsoft gun. The motor converts electrical energy from the battery into rotational movement that drives the gearbox gears, compresses the spring, and starts the firing cycle. Motor characteristics directly influence trigger response, rate of fire, and the ability to pull stronger springs.
AEG motors can be classified in several different ways. The most common distinctions are motor technology, performance characteristics, and shaft length.
Motor technology
Traditional AEG motors are brushed motors, which use carbon brushes to transfer electrical current. Modern brushless motors are also available and offer higher efficiency, faster trigger response, and fewer wear components.
Performance characteristics
Motors are often designed for different performance goals.
Standard motors
A balanced option offering a good compromise between torque, speed, and durability. Suitable for most standard AEG setups.
High-torque motors
Provide greater pulling power and are well suited for stronger upgrade springs and DMR builds.
High-speed motors
Focus on higher RPM and can increase the rate of fire.
Shaft length
AEG motors are also available with different shaft lengths to match specific airsoft gun models. The most common types are:
Long type – commonly used in M4 and M16 style AEGs
Short type – often used in AK, G36 and MP5 platforms
Medium type – less common, used in certain models
In this category you will find AEG motors for electric airsoft guns, suitable for both standard and upgraded gearbox setups.
