The third generation SHS gears have been improved with, among other things, a new axle design, which increases the durability of the gears and ensures quieter and more stable operation for your weapon.

You can recognize the latest generation strollers by two markings on the stroller: the letters “SHS” and the gear ratio of the stroller is marked on the stroller box.

The markings are only found on the spur and sector gears. Those with a keen eye will notice the reinforcements in the teeth (e.g. the smaller teeth on the bevel gears are thicker) and other structural changes compared to previous generations. In addition, the latest SHS gears have an oxidized, all-black surface treatment.

Note! SHS's latest generation of sprockets is incorrectly referred to as the fourth generation on airsoft forums, among others. This is based on structural changes observed in the bevel sprockets, which, according to SHS, do not determine the generation of the sprockets.

Shimming:

"Shimming" refers to the alignment of the gears of the motor gear and the gear box with respect to each other. Gear alignment should be done whenever gears or bearings are replaced or installed in new housings. Shims of different thickness are used for alignment. Good shimming is a prerequisite for a smooth and reliable functioning gear box. Improper shimming will lead to breakage of parts.
