The Specna Arms SA-PJ14 belongs to the manufacturer’s flagship PRIME series and represents a higher standard of AK-type AEG rifles in terms of construction, finish, and internal components. This model is the result of a collaboration with Ukrainian manufacturer KPYK, known for its modern AK-system accessories and ergonomic design solutions.

The construction is largely steel, with key external components such as the receiver, outer barrel, muzzle device, gas tube, trigger guard, selector, and structural components built for durability. Aluminum is used in parts like the handguard, sights, and side mounting interface. The KPYK CRC 1U004 handguard adds modern M-LOK compatibility, while the side-mounted dovetail rail allows for optic mounting without the need for additional adapters. On the electronics side, the rifle is equipped with a GATE Aster II ETU combined with a Specna Arms DarkMatter High Speed brushless BLDC motor. This setup delivers fast trigger response, a smooth cycle, and efficient power usage. The Aster II system allows adjustable trigger sensitivity, pre-cocking, active braking, and advanced configuration via the GCS app, including Bluetooth connectivity for mobile devices. The rifle uses a Deans (T-plug) connector and is designed for stick-type batteries installed under the top cover, as in most AK-style rifles with top-wired configurations.
