Gearbox shims (shim washers) are thin metal spacers used in electric airsoft gun gearboxes to adjust the spacing and alignment of the gears. They are placed on the gear axles to position the gears correctly and ensure smooth rotation.

Proper shimming reduces friction, noise, and gear wear while improving the overall efficiency and reliability of the gearbox. Poor shimming can increase strain on the motor and cause unnecessary wear on gearbox components.

Shims are available in different thicknesses, typically 0.1 mm to 0.5 mm, allowing precise adjustment of gear spacing.
